Webinar: Safety System Control Architectures

View the one hour webinar on the concepts related to control architectures and understand the basic principles of operation within a safety system.

On September 18th, 2013, Schmersal sponsored a New Equipment Digest presentation of a Webinar on Safety System Control Architectures. It was presented by Michael DeRosier, who is a Regional Sales Manager for Schmersal USA and a TUV Certified Functional Safety Engineer.

Hearing terms such as "Control Categories", "Performance Level" and "redundancy" are not always clear to the people who should really understand them. In many cases safety systems are seen only by the visible safety device, such as the door interlock switch, light curtain or emergency stop - the device is triggered and the machine stops. The unknown in a safety system is what is happening behind the scenes, such as the way the devices are connected and if they comply with the required control category determined through a risk analysis. This webinar, Safety System Control Architectures, is designed to simplify the concepts related to control architectures and understand the basic principles of operation within a safety system.

New Equipment Digest has provided a recording of the one hour Webinar, which is available to view on demand. View the Webinar, here.
