Anuga FoodTec 2015: Successful show

Real interest in hygiene-compliant switchgear

The Schmersal Group's fist appearance at the Anuga FoodTec show was a real success. This was clear both from the number of meeting contacts and from the feelings of the stand team. Siegfried Rüttger, Packaging Industry Manager: "We were able to forge some interesting new contacts to mechanical engineering companies. Many visitors also came because they are already using our products and wanted to know about new developments.” According to Siegfried Rüttger, visiting other stands was just as important to the industry and product specialists at the Schmersal Group as manning their own stand: "As Anuga FoodTec covers the whole process chain for foot production and processing, many of our customers were also exhibiting. So it was just a short walk to some really fruitful discussions." There was also real interest from many show attendees in the expanded “N range”. Schmersal developed these hygiene-compliant control and command devices specially for food machinery. Among the new products in the range is
  •  a new blue sealing membrane. This not only fulfils the requirements for sealing and hygiene-compliance, but can also detect foreign bodies in foods by means of optical systems, as no food is naturally blue in colour.
  • an ergonomically improved mushroom push button and a 3-colour LED module which is as compact as it is cost-effective.
The command and signalling devices are also suitable for use in production areas with the highest clean-room classification (air purity class 1 according to ISO 14644-1). This qualification certificate is also a declaration for recommendation to use in production environments for sterile preparations up to GMP Class C ac-cording to the EC GMP guide, Annex 1. Other popular ranges included the safety switchgear for sensitive applications - e.g. the AZM 300 solenoid interlock, which is already used by leading mechanical engineering companies in the food industry and the CSS30S and BNS 40 S safety sensor in a stainless steel housing. Siegfried Rüttger "Hygiene-compliant design and the associated high degree of protection are still central selection criteria for switchgear in the food industry. As we have developed specific products to meet this profile of requirements, we have a very strong presence in the industry."
