Open day at the training workshop

The "newcomers" were already able to get a taste of things: during an open day at the training workshop in Wuppertal, the prospective trainees who will start on 1 August 2019 at Schmersal were able to get to know their future workplace. Human resources manager Ulrike Theilmeier-Aldehoff, training manager Holger Stoffel and trainer Vera Steinbuß welcomed about 30 guests, among them the families of the new trainees and the already active trainees also counted. The older trainees presented some projects they are currently working on. The training workshop was only modernized and expanded at the beginning of 2017: classical workplaces for the training of technical and commercial professions were set up in the approximately 400 m² premises, i.a. with new, modern turning and milling machines and areas for electrical and electronics training. The guests were treated to home baked Schmersal waffles. Thus, the new apprentices learned something about the history of the company: in 1945 Schmersal was a "start-up", which initially marketed waffle iron.
At the end of the event, the parents of the prospective trainees were able to take home the reassuring certainty that their children are in good hands.
