Schmersal at the virtual booth of the LNI 4.0

 As a partner of Labs Network Industrie 4.0 (LNI 4.0), Schmersal is present at the digital trade fair SPS 2020: The LNI 4.0 will demonstrate the opportunities of Industrie 4.0 applications for small and medium-sized companies at SPS Connect from November 24th to 26th, 2020. The LNI 4.0 enables trend-setting technologies to be tried out in a variety of test scenarios. For this purpose, a completely new demonstrator has been developed that combines two industrial robots from different manufacturers and a linear transport system from another manufacturer with camera systems for motion control via TSN (time-sensitive networks). The cross-manufacturer real-time communication is an important prerequisite for the cost-effective implementation of Industry 4.0 in the entire manufacturing process, especially in tight supply chains and in intra-logistics.

In addition to robots, control components from a wide variety of manufacturers are networked in the demonstrator. Schmersal has contributed its Protect PSC1 modular safety controller. In addition, the safety components RSS36 and AZM300 from Schmersal are installed in the demonstrator to safeguard and lock the safety doors. A wide range of system functions can also be controlled via the Schmersal BDF200 control panel.
