VDMA – German Engineering Federation - meets at Schmersal

The working group of the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) - Professional Association for Waste and Recycling technology met at the beginning of December at Schmersal in Wuppertal. The theme of the event, which was attended by the eight member companies of the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) was:  "Working successful with the Trade Press - the most important adjustment in brief". After the introduction and greeting of the participants by VDMA-speaker Karl Rottnick and Frank Schmidt, manager for work with Standards, Bodies and Associations at Schmersal; Steffen Hönlinger, Marketing Manager at Schmersal presented the in-house marketing strategy. "Schmersal has developed from being a component manufacturer to a systems partner, offering its customers holistic system solutions as an expert in this field in terms of machine safety," says Hönlinger. "Our corporate strategic alignment is considerably supported by a stringent marketing concept, and it is an important cornerstone when considering our work with the Trade Press". Udo Sekin, branch manager for heavy industry at Schmersal, presented some exemplary safety solutions for this industry and skilfully brought the subject around to recycling and conveyor technology.  A tour of the production in Wuppertal gave an impression of the modern manufacturing process with Schmersal. Conclusion: An informative and inspiring event, and the VDMA-working group considered this new approach of having its meetings held at the premises of a member company to be good.
