Girl's Day at Schmersal

For seven girls, Thursday, 27 April, offered an exciting change from everyday life at school: As part of Girl's Day, they had the opportunity to get a taste of the technical world of work at Schmersal.

Under the guidance of trainer Vera Mummel, the girls produced a " Connect Four" game made of metal in Schmersal's training workshop, which they could take home after their work was done. Vera Mummel also informed the participants about technical apprenticeships at Schmersal, such as mechatronics engineer or toolmaker.

The Girl's Day takes place once a year all over Germany and aims to get girls interested in scientific and technical professions. At the same time, it is intended to counteract the shortage of skilled workers, because mechanical engineering and other high-tech industries are in urgent need of young talent.
