The Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced its Top 10 most frequently cited workplace safety standards for fiscal year 2024. Scott Ketcham, director of OSHA’s Directorate of Enforcement Programs, presented the preliminary list at the 2024 NSC Safety Congress & Expo, the world’s largest annual gathering of safety professionals.
The 10 categories on last year’s list all appear on the list again this year—the violations haven’t changed; only their relative position on the Top 10 list. 8 of the 10 categories had fewer violations this year than in the previous year
The Top 10 most frequently cited workplace safety standards for FY 2024 are:
Machine Guarding (1910.212) remains on the list at number 10, with 1,541 citations.
